Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 December 2024 the Officine del Volo hosted co-LAB 18, the event celebrating the know-how of Made in Italy craftsmanship at the service of leading Italian and international fashion houses. This is a collaboration between the Group's 18 companies, interpreted by a selection of garments on display, specially created to highlight the research and craftsmanship that distinguishes each company in the Group.
The co-LAB project is an initiative by Holding Moda (HModa) was developed to strengthen collaboration with prestigious clients, involving them in research on materials, craftsmanship, and production processes carried out within the Group’s companies, which stand as flagships of Italian artisanal excellence. Despite their distinct product specializations, HModa’s various entities share values and growth perspectives that make them unique and complementary.
This project, presented in Milan on 4-5 December, 2024, at Officine del Volo, celebrates the expertise of Italian craftsmanship serving major Italian and international fashion houses. Co-LAB 18 is the culmination of synergies among the Group’s 18 companies. By sharing their specific expertise and the outcomes of their research on materials and processes, they have created a selection of unique and innovative garments, a spark for new creativity.
Following two editions of co-LAB in Paris at the HModa Showroom&Lab, HModa has chosen to mark its debut in Milan with the collaboration of Roman director Chiara Sabatini and cinematographer Yann Stofer for the creation of the short film STELLE.
STELLE offers an overview of the hidden reality behind every garment skilfully produced by the Group’s companies. It is a journey through intimate portraits of gazes, hands, and words of those who, with passion and talent, transform ideas into masterpieces to wear: the artisans, those “unknown stars” as the director defines them.
Claudio Rovere, Founder and President of HIND and HModa, said: “HModa was created to bring together virtuous companies that represent the excellence of Italian manufacturing, with the aim of celebrating Made in Italy and preserving the valuable artisanal knowledge that makes us famous worldwide. Serving Italian brands with our expertise makes us even prouder of the heritage we preserve. This is why we’re bringing the co-LAB project to Italy: to share with our Italian clients the innovations and research conducted within the Group, resulting in unique projects that encapsulate all the potential of Made in Italy.”
Simona Finelli, co-founder of Rilievi Group Srl and director of the co-LAB project, added: “From the beginning, we envisioned co-LAB as a blank canvas for HModa companies to tell a story where experiences, cultures, skills, and visions intersect. Co-LAB means being part of a Group, and its creations visually represent how the savoir-faire of one company complements that of the other. Behind the design of every garment there are worlds to discover and emotions to feel. Over the years, I’ve learned that beauty has weight, and Chiara Sabatini’s perspective allowed us to tell this story. Co-LAB aims to be an open space where creativity circulates, sensitivity expands, and art tells stories of fashion. I hope our guests are enveloped in all of this.”
