HModa inaugurates Ente Formativo Calzaturiero delle Marche to support regional and national supply chain by creating new professionalism

HModa launches in Civitanova the accredited training institution dedicated to training Made in Italy artisans in the high-end footwear sector

The first course, financed by the Marche Region through the PR ESF + 2021-2027 and sponsored by the Municipality of Civitanova Marche, will start on April 8. It will have a first class of 15 participants and a subsequent placement in companies in the Group or in the area

Holding Moda (HModa) announces, through Accademia HModa Società Benefit srl, the creation of Ente Formativo Calzaturiero delle Marche (EFC Marche), the new training center created near Calzaturificio Valmor (HModa Group).

This new training institution, accredited by the Marche Region, aims to bridge the generation gap of artisans specializing in the high manufacturing footwear sector. Transmitting the standards of excellence in Made in Italy footwear, the EFC will train professional resources ready for employment at the HModa Group’s factories and others in the regional and national manufacturing ecosystem.

The first course, starting on Monday, April 8, will be financed by the Marche Region through the PR FSE + 2021-2027 and sponsored by the Municipality of Civitanova Marche, and will be aimed at residents of the region, including students from technical institutions and young people looking for a first job, as well as others among the most vulnerable categories in the labor market (such as female workers and the over-50s). The training course “Employee in series production of high manufacturing footwear” will train 15 new professional figures through the provision of 600 hours of training in which classroom theory and practice in dedicated workshops will alternate, with specific focus on hemming, assembly, finishing and quality control. Speeches by industry experts, educational visits, master classes and in-depth webinars and an immersive internship in the company will complete the course. Upon passing the final exam, a Certificate of Qualification (EQF3 level) for Footwear Production Series Worker will be issued and – to at least 51 percent of graduates – employment within HModa Group or another footwear company in the Marche region will be guaranteed with a fixed-term or permanent contract.

In line with HModa’s philosophy, the practices of the Ente Formativo Calzaturiero will be inspired by great care and attention to sustainability: in fact, the raw materials used during the courses will be sourced from leather and lining processing waste, while the footwear made will be donated to the diocesan CARITAS, to promote a culture of doing good and solidarity, in synergy with the enhancement of excellence skills and the protection and promotion of the territory’s know-how as specific guidelines of the project.

The course is being presented today – Friday, April 5, 2024 – to institutions, media and other stakeholders in the area through an inauguration event at the premises of the new school at Via Vittorio Valletta 2.

Claudio Rovere, Founder and President of Hind, said, “The Ente Formativo Calzaturiero was created with the important goal of supporting national and international companies, brands and businesses through the training of resources specialized in the manufacturing excellence of footwear, the intangible heritage of the Marche district and Made in Italy. The EFC courses will, in fact, expand the training offerings of Accademia HModa with intensive and extensive training courses from beginner to advanced level. We want to reaffirm our mission to spread Made in Italy, a fundamental value of the Group that the whole Hind aims to preserve and protect, with a model based on the constant dialogue between business demand and need and on the synergy between public and private. It is precisely for this reason that we have chosen to inaugurate this new school of ours in Civitanova Marche, a strategic location and true nerve center of the footwear district in the Marche region, rich in realities representative of excellence in Made in Italy footwear production.”

Stefano Aguzzi, Councillor for Employment and Training of the Marche Region, commented, “Today’s inauguration stands as a highly positive moment that testifies to how the ability to create synergies between the public and private sectors, between the world of institutions and businesses, thanks also to the important support of European resources, can generate profitable opportunities to bridge the gap between labor supply and demand. I have often insisted on the importance of creating training opportunities with skills that respond to the real needs expressed by businesses, and the creation of the Ente Formativo Calzaturiero delle Marche (E.F.C. Marche) goes precisely in this direction, drawing on one of the most identifying of our vocations, that of quality footwear, a pride of our Made in Italy. This creates employment paths with high added value, aimed at the regional production fabric (and not only), thanks to which the heritage of skills that comes from our tradition is enhanced, combining it with an innovative and in-depth vision on the future of the sector.”

Fabrizio Ciarapica, mayor of the Municipality of Civitanova Marche, added, “It is a pleasure for the municipal administration to host here in Civitanova this training center accredited by the Marche Region dedicated to high training in the footwear sector. An initiative with which we aim to create competent and qualified personnel for the high fashion companies that have already invested in the city and will do so, giving a concrete answer to the shortage of specialized figures. The administration, for its part, has already activated a series of counters to orient and train young people and will continue to support all those initiatives that can bridge this difficulty. Investing in training is certainly a winning strategy to give further momentum to our footwear district. I thank the Marche Region, Accademia HModa and Valmor, a Civitanovian excellence that will support the course, for choosing to dedicate time and resources to this strategy right here in Civitanova.”

23 January, 2024

Hind's subholding finalizes the acquisition of 100% of the Tuscan companies Emmetierre and Fast Pelle specializing in small leather goods, handbags and leather accessories, which have been serving the most important national and international luxury fashion houses for more than 40 years.

With this new operation, which flanks those of Gab (2021) and Taglionetto (2023), HModa diversifies and consolidates its positioning in the leather goods sector, continuing on its industrial path of investing in the excellence of the Italian fashion supply chain.

Holding Moda (HModa) has acquired 100% of Emmetierre and Fast Pelle, Florentine artisan companies specializing in the production of small leather goods and handbags for leading international luxury brands.

With this operation, HModa strengthens its presence in the leather goods segment, a sector already manned with the acquisitions of Gab (2021) and Taglionetto (December 2023), integrating specialized know-how and covering all the main types of leather processing. Investments are also already planned to enhance the synergy between the three companies, with Gab dedicating a space of about 4,000 square meters to Emmetierre, Fast Pelle and Taglionetto inside its new headquarters in Campi Bisenzio, with the aim of optimizing most of the activities into a single hub of excellence in leather goods by June 2024.

Based in Scandicci, in the province of Florence, Emmetierre has developed in the small leather goods segment since its founding in 1981. From a joint initiative of Fabio Tombelli and Stefania Romagnoli and the integration of Fast Pelle, a company specializing in cutting and preparation, over the years the company has expanded its product range to meet market needs. To date, it also includes leather handbags and accessories such as men’s and women’s wallets, clutches and pouches, mini-bags, key fobs, headphone cases, card cases, document holders, and the like, all designed and packaged in-house for high-end luxury brands. Emmetierre and Fast Pelle currently boast a staff of 37 highly skilled people.

Claudio Rovere, founder and chairman of Hind, said, “Through the integration of 100 percent of Emmetierre and Fast Pelle, HModa Group continues on its industrial path of investing in the excellence of Made in Italy. This new operation is part of a strategic project to develop leather processing, which boasts significant growth potential. The specific industrial project will be coordinated by Gab, a key company of the group as early as 2021, which will now be able to count on a total workforce of 260 employees, of which about a hundred will be new professionals resulting from the recent integrations of Emmetierre, Fast Pelle and Taglionetto.”

Fabio Tombelli, co-founder and co-owner of Emmetierre, said, “Becoming part of the HModa group is a source of great pride for us and represents an important confirmation of the value of our work, coming to crown a forty-year-long path made of quality, research and dedication.”

“This is a great opportunity for growth for Emmetierre and Fast Pelle,” concluded Stefania Romagnoli, co-owner of the two companies, “also guaranteed by the relationships of collaboration and exchange of know-how that we are already starting with the other companies in the group, all excellences in their respective areas of specialization, winning expressions of Made in Italy.”

Holding Industriale's subholding finalizes the acquisition of a majority stake in the Campania-based company specializing in moccasins and sneakers, with several collaborations with leading national and international luxury fashion houses under its belt

Holding Moda (HModa) announces the acquisition of a majority stake in Calzaturificio Dema S.r.l., a Caserta-based shoe manufacturer specializing in high-quality moccasins and sneakers. Two years after the acquisition of the Marche-based Valmor, the deal allows Hind to consolidate its stronghold in the footwear segment and expand its product offering in the high-end segment, coming to count among its ranks the first company located in Campania, an area rich in excellence of great value for the world of fashion and luxury Made in Italy.

Founded in 1989 by an initiative of Giovanni De Simone with a specialization in moccasins, Calzaturificio Dema has later expanded production to all the main types of footwear and workmanship, from sneakers, strobel and fitted, to ankle boots and sandals. Following the entry of sons Italo, Paolo and Danilo into the company in 2015 and the integration of part of the supply chain with the founding in 2021 of the Alinea upper factory, the company has experienced steady development, as well as strategic partnerships with some of the most important luxury brands at the Italian and international level. With a workforce of about 150 people between Dema and Alinea, Dema’s consolidated turnover in 2022 was about 22 million euros, producing more than 1,100 pairs of shoes per day.

Claudio Rovere, founder and Chairman of Hind, said, “With the acquisition of Dema, HModa continues on its industrial path of investment in the excellence of Made in Italy, aiming to invest in an ever-growing sector such as footwear, which is increasingly strategic for large luxury companies. Arriving in Campania, an area rich in artisanal history in the world of fashion, also allows the Group to expand skills and presence throughout the country, an important step in a structured plan of growth, development and interchange between our companies.”

Giovanni De Simone, founder and CEO of Dema, says, “We are thrilled to join the HModa family, whose strategies, mission and values we have shared since the beginning. Representing the Campania region in this industrial project honors the work done so far by our team and, at the same time, stimulates us to pursue a new path of growth in line with the principles of quality and craftsmanship of which we have always been the bearers.”

HModa launches “Storie di Futuro – Made in Italy” and strengthens its commitment to education

13 December, 2023
13 December, 2023

An innovative orientation course aimed at secondary school students in six Italian regions, home to major fashion districts.

Promoted by Accademia HModa, in collaboration with La Fabbrica, the initiative aims at generational turnover in the textile, fashion and accessories supply chain.

To bring the youngest students closer to discovering the trades and professions of Made in Italy fashion and orient them to choose high schools that have the fashion industry as a job opportunity. This is the objective of Storie di futuro – Made in Italy, the school orientation project aimed at secondary schools in six Italian regions and desired by HModa, a Made in Italy luxury production hub promoted by Holding Industriale (Hind) that includes 11 integrated companies on the entire supply chain, and its school of specialization Accademia HModa, in collaboration with the certified training institution  La Fabbrica, a benefit company and educational communication agency associated with the UNA network.

Storie di futuro – Made in Italy aims to help promote among young people the potential and concrete job prospects offered by a leading sector of the Italian economy, the textile, fashion and accessories (TMA) sector, which represents the second largest industry in the country in terms of number of employees and with growing needs, but which has long been faced with a widespread shortage of specialized figures available on the market. The objective of Storie di futuro – Made in Italy is precisely to help reverse this trend, encouraging a change of mentality among the younger generation and promoting among them the choice of a high school with a Fashion address to direct them towards a strategic sector for the Italian economy. The project includes an in-class orientation course for secondary school students in six regions – Lombardy, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Marche and Campania – led by teachers who will have followed a targeted training course, proposed by La Fabbrica.

Meetings with professionals and visits to HModa companies in the six regions complete the itinerary, as well as an educational contest that will involve students in the creation of a podcast on the Made in Italy fashion theme. In addition, students will have access to additional content, including a fun test, a video section for inspiration from those already working in the industry, and direct access to schools in the TAM network, Institutes with fashion, technical, professional and art high schools through a dedicated website: www.storiedifuturo.it.

“The textile, fashion and accessories sector is undergoing a strong evolution and needs a new workforce, which is essential to ensure the resilience of the Made in Italy system. It is therefore imperative to invest both in vocational training and in spreading knowledge of the different skills and opportunities in the sector among the younger generations. For this reason, Hind and HModa have decided, in collaboration with La Fabbrica, to launch the project Storie di futuro – Made in Italy with the aim of bringing younger people closer to the fashion professions. The decision to invest in a medium- to long-term project such as Storie di Futuro is part of a broader strategic vision of the Group, which has led HModa to give birth in 2020 to Accademia HModa, the school of specialization to train the skilled workers our industry needs and encourage generational turnover in the Group’s companies,” says Claudio Rovere, founder and chairman of Hind-Holding Industriale.

With this new operation, the Group invests in the territory to strengthen the vertical supply chain offering with a sustainable approach

Holding Moda (HModa) announces the acquisition of four laboratories, already suppliers to its subsidiaries, with the aim of even greater supply-chain integration and optimization.

Among the latest additions to the Group are Manifattura Lendinarese, a historic supplier to the RBS company located in the province of Rovigo that specializes in sportswear and other garments; Taglio Netto, a workshop in Calenzano (Florence) that has long collaborated with GAB and produces high-quality small leather goods such as belts, wallets, clutches and other items destined for high-fashion collections; and Tomaificio Elledi based in Pomigliano D’Arco (Naples), which specializes in uppers and hemming processes. These acquisitions are joined by Tessitura Arca of Prato, which specializes in soft accessories and joined Beste last July.

The acquisitions are part of a broader project of commitment to strengthening the fashion supply chain, highlighted by “The Ghost Makers” project, conceptualized to spread and grow a culture of sustainability among its laboratories in order to guarantee the group’s clients a certifiable and transparent supply chain. Launched in February 2022, “The Ghost Makers” is part of HModa’s cultural and value-based ESG path aimed at enhancing the excellence of “Made in Italy” in order to offer international luxury fashion houses a certifiable supply chain that is creative and rich in the highest level of expertise.

Giulio Guasco, Board Member of Hind, said, “HModa continues on its path of internalizing the supply chain, which is increasingly vertical and integrated, in support of the service we offer our customers. The operations bring within the Group strategic segments of the value chain, involving about 117 people and thus representing an important investment for the growth of the companies part of HModa. We chose laboratories with which our companies already had relationships, aware of their value and the scope of their know-how, with the aim of adding highly strategic pieces within our direct supply chain.”
